NORTHSTAR

 

Su verdadero nombre es Jean-Paul Beaubier, este personaje es muy importante porque fue el primero en ser declarado abiertamente homosexual. Sus poderes se deben a una mutación que le permite controlar la energía cinética de su estructura molecular, por lo que puede volar, hacer movimientos a supervelocidad y generar rayos de luz. Antes de ser parte reclutado por Jean Grey para los X-Men, Northstar perteneció a Alpha Flight.La declaración de sus preferencias sexuales fue todo un tabú. Al principio uno de sus creadores, John Byrne, tuvo que ir dejando pistas entrelíneas para dar a entender las preferencias sexuales de Northstar, quien se identifica como gay.

 Estamos hablando de la década de los ochenta, así que en aquel entonces el redactor en jefe de Marvel, avisó a sus redactores que ningún personaje del universo Marvel sería gay. Por esta razón, Byrne no declaró abiertamente la homosexualidad de Northsar, no obstante era una característica intrínseca del personaje.

La personalidad de Deadpool es todo menos discreta y es famoso por romper la cuarta pared, es decir, que es consciente de ser un personaje de ciencia ficción y usa esto para interactuar con el público. Se caracteriza por su sarcasmo y humor negro que lo hacen un personaje muy querido a pesar de ser un antihéroe. Sus poderes se desarrollaron al ser sometido a un programa paramilitar del gobierno canadiense, del que obtuvo el factor de regeneración curativo.

En el año 2013, el escritor de Deadpool, Gerry Duggan colgó un tuit en su cuenta oficial donde confirmó la bisexualidad del antihéroe. Además, cuando se le preguntó al cocreador Fabian Nicieza, sobre las preferencias sexuales de Deadpool, este contestó: “Deadpool es cualquier inclinación sexual que su cerebro le dice que es en ese momento”

ICEMAN

Iceman es un mutante y miembro fundador de los X-Men, junto con Jean Grey, Arcángel, Bestia y Cíclope. Sus poderes, como su nombre lo dice, tienen relación con la manipulación del hielo y el frío al congelar el vapor del aire, así como convertir su cuerpo en hielo.

La vida amorosa de Iceman según los cómics ha sido bastante inestable, incluso se menciona que tuvo relaciones amorosas con varias parejas femeninas aunque ningún fructífera. Por esto, se ha decidido darle un giro a este hombre X y se ha declarado su homosexualidad, lo que supone una reescritura y actualización del personaje.

Ambas son pertenecientes al equipo de superhéroes X-Men y forman parte importante del mismo, de hecho, son piezas fundamentales de la historia de X-Men. Aunque ambas han tenido otras relaciones amorosas, siempre ha sido conocido que estas dos mujeres mutantes tienen una relación muy estrecha.

Son quizá la pareja LGBT más famosa de Marvel. Ambos pertenecen al equipo Young Avengers. Sus verdaderos nombres son Billy Kaplan (Wiccan) y Teddy Altman (Hulkling), ambos hijos de superhéroes. Wiccan es hijo de Scarlet Witch, mientras que Hulkling es hijo de Mar-Vell con una princesa Skrull.

Ambos jóvenes han pasado mucho tiempo juntos y tienen una relación amoroso. En el especial de Young Avengers, Jessica Jones, quien trabaja para el Daily Bugle, investiga a un grupo de jóvenes héroes y para conocer mejor sus pasados los entrevista. Los Jóvenes Vengadores hablan de las complicaciones a lo largo de su vida, así Hulkling confiesa que abusó de su poder cambiaformas para salir con el chico más popular de su escuela.
